Lauren Corbyn Interiors Featured on Ava Living!

Posted in Bloggity by laurencorbyn on January 3, 2011

I got a great surprise in my inbox this first workweek of 2011.  Lauren Corbyn Interiors is featured on Ava Living this week!  This is my second feature on Ava Living, a site for both designers and clients.  Thanks Ava!

Here’s a screenshot of my featured project.  The theme on Ava this week is “rustic comfort.”  The living area I designed isn’t super rustic, but has enough texture to qualify.  The fireplace adds to the rustic look with it’s beam mantle and stacked stone facade.  The room was really inspired by Axel Vervoordt’s Belgian style.  We used a lot of linen and natural woods.  The woods can be seen in the rough coffee table (a definite rustic touch) and also the overhead beams.  The sleek dark floors help keep the rustic in check.  Overall, definitely cozy and rustic without being at all country.

Happy New Year to you!  Hopefully I won’t leave you hanging with so few blog posts.  That’s as close as I’m going to get to making any resolutions.  🙂  How about you?

For the Dudes

…naked lady pillows and all.

I’m mildly uncertain about the zebra chair.  I like that it adds a little brown and organic quality, but the shape might be a little too trad.  How about this to spice things up?  Still organic-y with the leather, but a snazzier shape + tufting = good things.

I’m imagining this in an apartment-y setting where the living and dining are near each other.  This table is just big enough to play cards, or use a laptop, or dine for four.  That’s all a single dude needs, right?

House Beautiful

I think I’d need a cozier couch, but I love the lofty, breezy, rusticness.
